We didn’t start our careers in this industry. Keith (my husband) and I have a combined experience of over 20 years in the healthcare industry as qualified healthcare professionals.
It’s always been about people
Keith has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) and I have a Bachelor of Oral Health. We’ve spent most of our lives caring for people and their families. But there’s more to us than fancy pieces of paper.
Our toughest challenge
We’re also a young family with two children. Becoming parents really opened our eyes and helped us see the world in a completely different way. Children have a way of changing your priorities and making you want to be and do better, don’t they?
Having kids really made us start thinking about the world we’re leaving behind for them and what we’d like that world to look like. Whilst nurturing them to live a fulfilling and purposeful life. I’m sure you’d agree that’s no mean feat!
We truly believe the thing that will influence our kids the most is the way they see us live our own lives. So we’re motivated and driven to continually grow. We have a strong urge to show them how we live out our core values. And how we use our success to contribute back to the community to help make a better world for everyone. Here’s how it all began…

In 2016, the healthcare environments Keith and I were in started changing. The focus of the employers were no longer about caring. It started to become more and more about just stats, numbers and targets. All at the cost of client quality of care. Does that sound familiar to you?
We got increasingly uncomfortable. And after resisting the changes we realised we couldn’t go on working for an employer where our values didn’t align.
We were forced to stop, remember what was most important to us and decide which fork in the road to take. Luckily for us, at about the same time, some new people entered our lives.
An opportunity for a better life
We met people who’d started their own business. Poured their heart and soul into it. And over many years now have something massive they can be proud of. They shared stories of their journey, complete with hard work, sacrifice and persistence. But the thing that really resonated with us was they could stay true to what they believed in.
And now, through their success they’re able to use their experience to contribute back to the community and help others. They also have complete control of the destiny of their lives. The values they held so dear were able to be expressed and honoured every step of the way. This inspired us to start our own family business – Celestia Homes.
Family is our foundation
Family is the most important thing to us. So it’s at the centre of all we do at Celestia Homes. Our daughter, Ivy, came up with the name “Celestia” after her favourite cartoon character at the time – Princess Celestia from My Little Pony.
Celestia Homes is run by our family to help others just like us. And if we’re fortunate enough to cross paths, either in a business relationship or hosting you as a valued guest, we want you to know we’ll treat you like family. You’ll never be just a number or stat to us.
We look after each and every one of our homes like it’s our own. Whether we own it or not. We take great pride in what we do and we have very high standards.
In 2017, Celestia Homes was born with a single family-friendly 2-bedroom apartment in North Adelaide. Since then, we’ve steadily expanded our portfolio to encompass a variety of homes catering to families and workers throughout Adelaide.
Every one of our properties is equipped with complimentary child-friendly amenities such as a portacot, high chair, books, toys, plastic cutlery and crockery. All aimed at easing the challenges of traveling with little ones.
For our corporate guests, we offer unlimited NBN wifi, seamless self-check-in with keyless entry for added convenience and dedicated workspaces. Each home is meticulously arranged with care to create a welcoming environment. Ensuring that you feel instantly relaxed and at home upon arrival.

We find great joy in running our own business. Especially because it allows us to support our community in various ways. Beyond assisting travelling families by providing accommodation, we create jobs and employment opportunities for local South Australian small business owners and contractors. We’ve also been able to sponsor local sports events, adding to the richness of our community contributions.
We know we’ve still got a long, hard road ahead as we continue to grow our business and work towards reaching our full potential, both personally and professionally. But we’re excited and hope you’ll join us on the journey!
